Welcome to Forbes Primary School
Forbes Primary School is situated on over 4 hectares, 7 km south of Adelaide in the suburb of South Plympton. At one stage, the school accommodated approximately 1800 students; current population is around 300.
New Developments
During 2010, a Children's Centre for Early Childhood Development and Parenting will open on the Forbes site. This is the only one approved so far in the Marion City Council area. Our Children's Centre will include a brand new Pre-School (taking place of Harcourt Gardens), babies and toddlers Child Care facilities, a new Out of School Hours Care centre and Community Health facilities. The Prime Minister's 2009 announcement of funding for schools means that we will be undertaking additional modifications, during this redevelopment, to create a state-of -the-art Middle Schooling (Year6/7) centre. Forbes will be the envy of most learning sites and we are certainly looking forward to being able to expand upon our already excellent educational programmes in this largely revamped facility.
Hours
- 8:30 - The school yard opens
- 8:45-10:30 - Lessons
- 10:30-10:50 - Recess
- 10:50-12:50 - Lessons
- 12:50-1:30 - Lunch
- 1:30-3:00 - Lessons
- 3:00 - Home time
All students should be in their classrooms and ready to start lessons in the morning. If children are late to school they miss roll call, morning routines and other activities that set the context for the day.
* N.B. On the last day of each term, dismissal at Forbes is at 2:30pm
